Since the end of the government investigation of the attack, tens of thousands of pages of "investigative" files, including interview summaries with CHS students, have been released to the public domain.

On page 7,043 of the files (JC-001-007043), then-CHS student David Proctor, who occasionally played Doom with Harris and Klebold, is alleged to have reported to government "investigators" that "earlier this year [1999] Harris had told him he designed a level of Doom that was Columbine High School."

In the summaries of interviews with him, Proctor is also alleged to have stated that another boy named Scott Carpenter, who had also occasionally played Doom with the two, told him he'd heard the same.
