Plot[]

The video begins with a title card displayed atop a red background, reading 'Squidward's Suicide'. The scene then changes, now to a beach, where Squidward is attempting to prepare for a concert while facing constant interruption from Spongebob and Patrick. Later in the episode, the concert takes place and is received poorly by the audience. Saddened, Squidward returns home, where we next see him in bed, the footage becoming further and further distorted. Strange noises play as he cries, his eyes pouring blood. We then see him wielding a shotgun, presumably to take his own life. The episode closes as he lies, dead, on the floor.

Origin[]

On April 6th, 2010, an anonymous user posted a creepypasta story titled "Squidward’s Suicide" to 7chan's /x/ (paranormal) board. Narrated by the author who claims to have seen the lost episode during his internship at Nickelodeons Studios, the story opens with the show's production team reviewing what was supposed to be the premiere episode for the fourth season, but as the footage progresses, the animators and editors become horrified by gory imageries and ghostly sound effects that weren't authorized to be included.

On February 8th, 2013, a Redditor named "SuicideSquidward" wrote a response in the r/self subreddit, identified to be the author of the Creepypasta.

Red Mist[]

Red Mist is an alternate version of Squidward's Suicide. Some details in the creepypasta contain more investigative and identifiable information. However, it is not the official sequel.
